Bike Drive for Migrant Workers

Bike Drive for Migrant Workers
Saturday, May 4 from 10:00am – 12:00pm on the Cathedral’s west lawn (65 Church St.)

Do you know someone with an old but usable bike? The Cathedral Outreach Committee is holding a Bike Drive on Saturday May 4 from 10:00am – 12 noon.

The Migrant Ministry at St. Paul, Beaverton is looking for safe and roadworthy bikes to enable workers to travel to nearby towns, attend church and access community events and services. The migrant workers in the area are from Mexico and the Caribbean and return regularly. It is a great need and a wonderful help.

There will be a brief presentation by St Paul’s incumbent, Fr. Ted McCollum, refreshments, a van to place the bikes in and a send- off at 12 noon with a Blessing of the Bikes! Please spread the word among your contacts and in your buildings and work places so we have a good collection of bikes to donate.

To help us with logistics, please us know that you will bring a bike by emailing jabaines@stjamescathedral.ca.
