Cathedral Community to Peacefully Counter-Protest March

As a proudly LGBTQ2S+ affirming parish, St. James Cathedral invites our community and allies to join us in a peaceful counter-protest of a potentially homophobic and transphobic march this coming Saturday, September 28 from 11:30am-2:30pm on the Cathedral’s west lawn.

We will be demonstrating that the marchers do not represent all Christians. We understand all people to be God’s beloved.

During the march, we will be holding banners and flags in silence as the marchers walk by. This will be a peaceful protest and we will not be engaging with the marchers.
If you wish to join our show of solidarity, please come to the Cathedral (at the corner of King and Church Streets) at 11:30am on Saturday, September 28. Please bring any banners, posters, flags, t-shirts, etc in support of our LGBTQ2S+ siblings.
We hope to see you on Saturday,
The Very Rev’d Stephen Vail,
Rector of St. James Cathedral and Dean of Toronto
The Rev’d Louise Peters,
Vicar of St. James Cathedral
