The Libertas Male Choir is made up of approximately 65 members from across South-Western Ontario. They are most honoured to be under the leadership of Martin Mans. Martin travels to Canada several times throughout the year for rehearsals and concert series with Libertas bringing accompanists and soloists along as well. Our choir is unique in that most of their practising is done at home through the Noteworthy computer program and specific parts CD’s. Home studying music gives members the opportunity to have less rehearsals and travel time while still ensuring that each member knows his part.
In June, Libertas will welcome Martin and the “Groot Mannenkoor Nederland” (Large Dutch Male Choir) to join them for a concert tour forming a joined choir of over 120 voices! Leading on the organ/piano is Mark Brandwijk, who has become a crowd favourite for his incredible skills and amusing style of playing. Put this together with Martin’s energetic directing and 120 men joyfully singing, this is sure to bring joy to all who attend. Rest assured, it is not all in Dutch and even if you may not understand the lyrics of some songs, remember the universal language of music and how beautiful it is.
