Warden’s Message – Appointment of our Next Dean

Our congregation is buzzing with questions regarding procedures and timeline for appointing our next Dean.

Many will remember the process for the selection of Dean Andrew, but for others it will be new. In the coming weeks, we (the wardens) will sit with the Archbishop and Dean Andrew to map out the timeline for selecting a new Dean. The rules of the selection process can be found in Canon 10 2017/2018 Constitution and Canons of the Diocese of Toronto.

We will keep you, the parish, informed about the selection process. The next step is the formation of a Parish Selection Committee (PSC), with further details coming in the next few weeks. If you would like to suggest a parish member who you feel is suitable for the PSC, please email us.

An Interim Priest will be appointed by the Archbishop and the Dean to help carry the ministry load with our Vicar, The Rev’d Louise Peters; Associate Priest, The Rev’d Leigh Kern; and Assistant Curate, The Rev’d James Liu after Dean Andrew’s consecration on September 29. We will move through the process prayerfully and with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. In the
meantime, let us spend the next few months celebrating and giving thanks to Dean Andrew for his time here as Dean.
