Blessings for a Glorious Easter!

Easter proclaims that God’s love is stronger than death and that new life is truly possible. At the empty tomb, despair gives way to hope, fear to courage, and confusion to faith. Easter is not only a celebration of what God has done in Christ, but a call to how we are to live now. The risen Christ meets us where we are and sends us out in love. This is the heart of evangelism: joyful witness.
We share the good news because we have ourselves experienced mercy, forgiveness, and new beginnings in Christ. Our words and our lives point to the One who is alive within us and among us. Easter deepens our sense of call to discipleship. To follow the risen Lord is to walk daily in his way, learning his teaching, practicing prayer, seeking justice, and loving our neighbours.
As we grow in Christ, we become a community shaped by resurrection hope. May this Easter help each of us to know Jesus more clearly, follow him more faithfully, and share his life-giving love with the world.
Alleluia! Christ is risen! “Keep hope alive!”

Join us for Holy Week services at St. James – Invitation from Vicar Stephen Fields

“Holy Week is the most sacred week in the Christian calendar. During these days, Christians remember and enter deeply into the central mystery of our faith: the suffering, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is a time when the Church slows down to pray, reflect, and walk with Christ through the final events of his earthly life. In doing so, Christians are reminded that through the cross, God’s love confronts suffering, injustice, and death, and that through the resurrection, new life and hope are made possible. At the Cathedral, we will keep this holy time through prayerful and reflective worship.”
The Rev. Canon Dr. Stephen Fields – Sub-Dean & Vicar
