St. James Cathedral Doors Open Hours
Saturday, May 28: 10:00am to 5:00pm;
Sunday, May 29: 12:30 to 4:00pm
St. James Cathedral is opening its doors once again for Doors Open during the final weekend of May. The event is an opportunity for Torontonians as well as visitors to come through our doors, learn about the Cathedral and its contribution to the city, and to have a chance to go up the Bell Tower, hear a demonstration of our organ and to examine artefacts from St. James’ history. There will also be guided tours, self-directed tours as well as an Instructional Eucharist.

- 10:00 a.m. – Doors Open begins for the day
- 10:30 a.m. – Organ demonstration
- 11:00 a.m. – Guided tour
- 12:30 p.m. – Instructional Holy Eucharist
- 1:30 p.m. – Organ demonstration
- 2:00 p.m. – Guided tour
- 3:00 p.m. – Guided tour
- 3:30 p.m. – Organ demonstration
- 4:00 p.m. – Guided tour
- 5:00 p.m. – Doors Open concludes for the day
- Bell tower tours: visitors will have the chance to climb the tower and experience the peal of bells throughout the day
Sunday, May 29, 2022
- 12:30 p.m. – Doors Open begins for the day
- 1:00 p.m. – Guided tour
- 1:00 p.m. – Godly Play story time (St. George’s Chapel)
- 1:30 p.m. – Mandarin Service
- 4:00 p.m. – St. James closes for Doors Open
- Participants are invited to stay for Choral Evensong at 4:30pm.
Both Days
- Self-guided tours – English, French and Mandarin
- Printed scavenger hunts will also be available for visitors highlighting the various animals located throughout the Cathedral.
