Thank you to everyone who joined us for Doors Open 2026 at St. James Cathedral and St. James Cemetery!

Over the course of the weekend, we were delighted to welcome thousands of visitors to explore the beauty, history, music, and community life of these sacred spaces.

From guided tours and organ demonstrations to bell tower climbs, choir rehearsals, and cemetery walks, it was a joy to share these experiences with you.

A heartfelt thank you goes to our dedicated volunteers, staff, musicians, clergy, tour guides, and the Change Ringers Guild whose generosity and enthusiasm made the weekend possible.

We are grateful to all who visited, participated, and helped make Doors Open 2026 such a memorable celebration. We look forward to welcoming you again next year!

Doors Open 2026

Mark your calendars! We are looking forward to welcoming thousands of visitors over the Doors Open weekend at St. James Cathedral and St. James Cemetery on May 23 & 24.

At St. James Cathedral: Offering Cathedral tours, organ demonstrations, open rehearsal with the Children’s Community Choir, and the always popular bell tower tours with the Change Ringers Guild.

At St. James Cemetery: Offering guided & self-guided tours. (635 Parliament Street, Toronto, Ontario, M4X 1R1, Canada)

Saturday, May 23

10:00am – Children’s Community Choir open rehearsal
10:30am to 4:00pm – Tours up the Bell Tower (Climb the tower and experience the peal of bells! Bell Ringers Guild will be in the Chapel giving out tickets for tours and assisting visitors).
10:30am, 11:30am, 1:30pm, 2:30pm & 3:30pm – Guided Tours
11:30am & 1:30pm – Organ demonstrations
5:00pm – Doors close

Sunday, May 24

8:00am: Said Eucharist
9:00am: Worship Together
11:00am: Choral Eucharist
12:30pm-3:30pm: Bell Tower tours
1:30pm: Guided tour
4:30pm: Choral Evensong
5:00pm: Doors close

Call for Volunteers

The Cathedral is looking for volunteers on both days to welcome visitors, provide information, and support various activities.

Volunteer orientation sessions for the Cathedral will be held:
Sunday, May 17 at 3:00pm
Friday, May 22 at 10:00am
