The World Day of Prayer (WDP) is a global movement and ecumenical event that brings Christians together each year to share a day of prayer, learning, and celebration. Supporting women in sharing their faith and speaking about their lives in prayer and worship is an important part of this movement. This year it is our turn to host. Women of the Cook Islands have prepared the colourful liturgy. The Children’s Program includes a song that is popular in the Cook Islands, as well as activities for coloring and flower garlands.

The World Day of Prayer (WDP) brings Christians together around the world to share a day of prayer, learning and celebration. Each year women from the host country share their region’s concerns and hopes with Christians in 170 countries. This year, women of the Cook Islands have prepared the worship service. Financial offerings received at the service transform our prayers into action with  project grants empowering women and children in our country and throughout the world. Grants range from $500.00 to $5,000.00. In 2023-2024 fifteen grants were made, including nine grants to Canadian organizations. Info: wdpcanada.ca/grant-programs
