Pastoral care at St. James is a diverse ministry provided largely by the Cathedral Clergy.
In recent years, this ministry has grown to include trained volunteer lay persons in activities that help maintain meaningful connections with members who are unable to participate in parish life because of illness or other concerns.
St. James Cathedral has a centralized and confidential pastoral line for use in all cases requiring pastoral assistance.
Please call 416-364-7865, press 1, and follow the instructions. Alternatively, email pastoral@stjamescathedral.ca to request a hospital or home visit from a priest, a visit from a lay pastoral visitor, prayer and additions to the prayer list, or help in any situation requiring pastoral attention. This line goes directly to the clergy, and emergencies will be responded to as soon as possible.
Lay Pastoral Visiting
Active members of the Cathedral Community provide a continuing association with those members who are unable to participate in the services and activities of the Cathedral.
