As the Cathedral community, we honour this day with special prayers and silence.
We gather in prayer, reflection and pause to remember, reflect, and seek reconciliation.
Together, we remember, listen, and commit ourselves to the work of reconciliation.
A prayer for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
Creator God,
from you every family in heaven and on earth takes its name.
You have rooted and grounded us in your covenant love,
and empowered us by your Spirit
to speak the truth in love,
and to walk in your way towards justice and wholeness.
Mercifully grant that your people,
journeying together in partnership,
may be strengthened and guided
to help one another
to grow into the full stature of Christ,
who is our light and our life.
Amen.
God, Creator of heaven and earth,
On this National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, guide us by your Spirit.
Unite Indigenous and non‑Indigenous peoples in Christ.
Sow in us words, journeys, signs, and appeals of hope.
Open our hearts so that together we may walk in dignity.
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, anchor us in hope. Amen.
