Happy Canada Day!
Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us — neighbours, friends, and visitors alike. We were thrilled to welcome around 750 guests. It was a joy to share this special day with you on the West Lawn, filled with great food, connection, and community spirit.
We’re especially grateful to everyone who made this event possible, with a heartfelt shoutout to our incredible volunteers and collaborators. Your support truly brought the day to life, and we couldn’t have done it without you!
This event reminded us of the strength and warmth of our neighbourhood, and we feel so thankful to be part of such a caring and vibrant community.

This year, the BBQ will be preceded by the midday Eucharist in the Cathedral at 12:15pm.
The event runs from 12:30pm to 3:00pm.
The Drop-In will be celebrating Canada Day with a huge BBQ on the West Lawn and will need many hands to make the work lighter for the day.
Shifts start in the kitchen at 9:30am and run until we have cleaned up at the end of the day. There are positions available in the kitchen, setting up, the areas we serve, and cleaning up.
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Kathy Biasi at 416-364-7865 Ext. 222 or kbiasi@stjamescathedral.ca
Please note: On the Canada Day holiday, the Cathedral will be open from 12:00pm to 3:00pm, and the Cathedral Centre Offices will be closed.
