Memorial Service for Archbishop Desmond Tutu – Sunday, June 12 at 4:30pm
On Sunday, June 12 at 4:30pm, we will host a memorial service for Archbishop Desmond Tutu, an internationally recognized civil rights advocate and leader of the non-violent opposition to apartheid in the presence of H. E. Rieaz Shaik, South African High Commissioner in Ottawa.
Preacher: The Rev. Michael Battle, Ph.D. (Herbert Thompson Professor of Church and Society, Director of the Desmond Tutu Center, General Theological Seminary, and author of “Desmond Tutu A Spiritual Biography of South Africa’s Confessor”).
The music will be provided by The Choir of St. James Cathedral and Jackie Richardson (Honorary Member of the Order of Canada).
This event is organized by St. James Cathedral and Trinity College, in association with the office of the Primate of the Anglican Church of Canada, the Diocese of Toronto, the South African Consulate-General at Toronto, and Adriaans & Associates Event Management Specialists.
